In New York City, former hotels are being transformed into affordable housing.

Mary Kennedy, a new resident of the Baisley Pond  Park Residencies in Queens, has spent the last five years between homeless shelters. "I prayed every night to have my own space, and to finally be able to rebuild my life." To her, this apartment is a safe haven. 

Pictured is the Baisley Pond Park Residencies, a newly built hotel-turned-housing complex near JFK in Queens, as well as Stewart Hotel in Manhattan which is scheduled to open in 2027 as affordable housing units.
